Waterloo Street looking North:
33m (107') total distance building front to building front including average 1.2m (4') sideyard
30m (99') right-of-way.

This view of Waterloo Street shows one of four Traditional Pattern residential street types.  This street is an example of how many of Vancouver's older, narrow residential streets were originally laid out with an eye to future expansion.  The 30.1 metre (99') right-of-way would allow four lanes of traffic.  Fortunately for the residents there is no need to widen this street.  The extra right-of-way space has been informally made a part of the front yards on the street.  The 10.7 metre (35') street width, despite the two rows of parking, allows for the passage of two cars simultaneously.  Street trees continue to be used on such upgraded streets to provide pedestrian scale and protection from the elements.
