The
valley bottom functions as the bioengineering heart of the
community. Sewage effluent and stormwater runoff is pumped
to treatment ponds in the cloverleafs of the Trans-Canada
Highway overpass as seen in the foreground of the perspective
sketch below. From these it is channelled to a series of constructed
wetlands, where it is purified before being released into
Still Creek (shown in the plan detail sketch at bottom).
